Ultimate Loyalty Japanese Dog Refuses to Leave Injured Friend Behind

January 3, 2012 by   Filed under Dog Care

Emerging coverage from Japan offers a moving example of ultimate dog loyalty, and clearly illustrates the challenges faced by animal victims of the earthquake and tsunami. It has been said that the dogs were picked up after the video was filmed, and are in the care of a local shelter. Updates and pics will be offered at the link above in the coming days, as available. Translation of conversation in video: We are in Arahama area. Looks like there is a dog. There is a dog. He looks tired and dirty. He must have been caught in the tsunami. He looks very dirty. He has a collar. He must be someone’s pet. He has a silver collar. He is shaking. He seems very afraid. Oh, there is another dog. I wonder if he is dead. Where? Right there. There is another dog right next to the one sitting down. He is not moving. I wonder. I wonder if he is alright. The dog is protecting him. Yes. He is protecting the dog. That is why he did not want us to approach them. He was trying to keep us at bay. I can’t watch this. This is a very difficult to watch. Oh. Look. He is moving. He is alive. I am so happy to see that he is alive. Yes! Yes! He is alive. He looks to be weakened. We need to them to be rescued soon. We really want them rescued soon. Oh good. He’s getting up. It is amazing how they survived the tremendous earthquake and tsunami. It’s just amazing that they survived through this all. Want to donate

USA was behind WTC, and some say HAARP was behind these disasters. You believe whatever you want to believe. I’m just announcing.

@KoolJayJ That’s true, Cats can’t horseplay and wrestle and everything like that.
Cats are more of a calm, lazy animal for lazy owners, which is why less energetic people love cats. Dogs are great for rough housing and are quite energetic.
So, if you’re energetic, you’d probably want a dog.

    Meanwhile in China….

  16. KoolJayJ says:

@Glaceon505 yea some cats seem to be loyal, but really what can you do with a cat?? My neighbor used to have this small white cat that comes to me whenever i call him, but all she does is walk around my legs and rub her fur all over me while purring

they can’t play catch, they can’t wrestle with you, they can’t do Shit!!

  17. Glaceon505 says:

@KoolJayJ Your opinion. I personally like cats better.
And some cats are quite loyal and lovable.

  18. KoolJayJ says:

DOgs are sooooo much better than cats, what has cats ever done for humans?? They aren’t loyal

I’m Japanese. I’m live in Japan.
Kenn Sakurai has NOT RESCUED these TWO DOGS.
I think all the people should get your money back
Mr. Sakurai has not done any of the relief activity of the animal, etc. nowhere in Japan.
No Japanese has seen Mr.Sakurai in the disaster-stricken area.

Mr. Sakurai deceived overseas people who did not know the situation well, by sending pet food once to each shelter as a camouflage.
Of all the money which he raised, nothing was contributed to the shelters.

I look around at the devastation and in the midst of this horrific disaster we see a glimmer of hope and through the loyalty of this poor wet dog that want leave his hurt friend behind. This is a million dollar video. Thanks for sharing and giving a follow up that they are both being taken care of. My God be with all these lost souls and grieving families!

  25. giantWario says:

@ShayandPaige They are journalist, not vet. They alerted the authorities, thats about all they can do. Trying to move the dogs when you dont know what you’re doing would just hurt them. Look in the description to see what they are actually saying.
