The crate or cage as its also known will act as a little cubby hole in your home for your canine to go to. Most dogs love crates because this gives a dog a pleasant place to go when they need sometime on their own.

If your dog lived in the wild he would find a tiny gloomy spot where he will live and then look at the circumferential location as his territory, which he will guard. Your dog hates to do his business where he lives; dogs are actually very clean animals. The only time they would ever mess on their own territory is if they were desperate and couldn’t find a way out or if they were marking out their area.

This translates to you and your home in the following; your dog would have a den, your house and garden would be his area which he will defend and outside of this is where he will want to go to the toilet and make his mark. Do you understand now?

The hardest part of crate training a dog is first introducing him to the crate. If you try to make your dog go inside the crate he will mostly become scarred of it. And conversely once he has taken to the crate then he will use it all the time.

The best thing to do is bring the crate home and make sure your dog doesn’t see it been moved from the car and been situated in your residence. Let your dog meet crate on his terms by letting him go into the room where you placed it and allowing him to get used to it in his own time.

Give him some time alone with the crate and let him explore it.

Follow this guide to crate training dogs and you’ll have a lot of pleasure with house training your dog.

There are many puppy owners who find themselves losing the novelty for their new pet after a while when they end up spending lots of time clearing up the mess it created. This is very unfortunate and it does not have to be that way if the owners had taken some time to learn some puppies training tips at the beginning. It will save you a lot of time and problem later on if you start training your new puppy right from the first day you brought it home. So how do you train your new puppy and what are the basic things you need to train your puppy in?

You do not have to worry too much about how to train your puppy because there are professional sites around where you can easily get free step-by-step puppies training tips which you can easily apply at home. These tips will apply to whatever breed of puppies you have purchased but you do have to note that some puppies might just take a little longer time than others to get trained. You just have to be more patient and consistent in your puppy training. Below are three tips which you can start applying right away.

The first thing you need to train your new puppy in is to potty train it. Yes, puppies are like little children, they need to be potty trained too! It is important to teach it from young so that you do not have to continue cleaning after it when it has grown into an adult. However, you cannot expect it to become potty trained overnight. You need to be persistent and consistent in your training and over time, your puppy will be able to remember its correct potty area. When you are training your puppy, it is vital that you do not allow it to get rid of its waste on your tiles, carpets and any wooden furniture you might have in your house.

Another of the puppies training tips that you need to teach is how to show respect for you. This is essential in order for your puppy to learn about self control. When you are training your puppy, you must never give in no matter how its whimpers, otherwise it will never follow your instructions. You need to show your puppy that you are the dominant one so that it will follow what you say. On the other hand, you must also not frighten your pet into listening to you. That will only turn your puppy into an unhappy, fearful and aggressive pet.

Start applying the above two puppies training tips given above, you are on a good start to having a lovable and happy pet. However, one other tip to puppy training is to create opportunities for your puppy to socialize. One way is to invite friends to your house. This will show your puppy that these strangers are not posing any threat to you so it will not grow up to be an aggressive adult dog. You do not want your pet to pounce on your guests whenever they visit you!

If you just got a brand new puppy, congratulations! You’re in for a very fun yet frustrating time. One second, you’ll be smiling at him for being so cute, while the next second, you’ll want to scream at him for breaking something in the house. So when it comes to a puppies training, the sooner you do it, the better off you’re going to be.

Although it’s important to get a puppy trained early, this still means you are going to have to show some patience. Let’s face it. This is a brand new situation for a puppy. You are going to have to give him a little leeway. He’s not going to pick it all up on his first day at a new home.

The beginning part of the puppy training should be focused on boundaries. What can the puppy do? Where can it go? All these things have to be answered. The best way is just to simply keep an eye on him. Watch and see where he goes when he is in the house. If he walks into closet, be prepared to say “NO”. The dog will soon get a sense by your tone, and where he is in the house, as to where he can go, and where he cannot.

Obviously, take him out a lot with a leash. Not only is it great for outside stimulus, but is also important for the dog to know that he has to relieve himself outside, not indoors. Whenever he does his business, make sure to give him a little treat, so he knows he’s done good.

Is your dog driving you crazy? Don’t get mad at them. It’s not their fault. They just need a little push in the right direction.
Dog Obedience Training

There are few things that are more frustrating than having an ill mannered,a ggressive dog around the house. Proper, early training will insure that you will not face what may become serious problems as the dog begins to mature. There is nothing funny about having a dog, big or small, trashing your home. Dog obedience training will help you to have a dog that behaves as it should, the way that you want it to behave. And, more importantly, because most dog problems are caused by owners that haven’t clue, it will train you to be a better doggy parent.

Step One

The first ingredient for effective dog obedience training to be effective is to build a solid and trusting relationship between dog and owner. And, before this can occur, a common language needs to be created. This can only be achieved when the dog obedience training that you are employing opens the way to learning, and provides you with the ability understand your pet and its needs.

Through dog obedience training you make sure that the animal always responds in a positive ways to your commands. The idea is to work with the dog in such a way as to ensure that the animal remains calm and will not develop anti-social behaviors. Exercises will help your pet create the best responses to stimuli and therefore, dog obedience training works for the benefit of both animal and adoptive family. Specific centers meet the requirements of dog owners who seek professional help in training their dogs. Though this is not commonly necessary if the owner understands the needs of the dog, and how to best address them.

Dog Training Methods

There are several types of dog obedience training; let’s have a look at the very basic ones. The most common and easy to put into practice are the reward-based and the leash training types. The latter is considered to belong to the traditional dog obedience training used at first in military facilities. For such practical purposes, the leash dog obedience training has more advantages than the food reward, since it finds better adaptation to the task or mission the animal has to face. The collars bring mild or even hard correction, yet, make sure that you don’t use it ineffectively.

The leash dog obedience training teaches the animal to obey to collar control. You will need to remember that the leash is just the first step into developing the skills to get the dog obey under no matter what circumstances and relying on other tools as well. This type of dog obedience training establishes the hierarchy or the leadership in the dog’s life and the relation you develop with the dog very much depends on this aspect. Now, let’s see how the reward dog obedience training system works. Commands given to the animal and properly executed are rewarded.

Thus, the pet associates a specific positive behavior with certain rewards, caresses, a toy or usually food. Behavior patterns develop along these lines as dog obedience training pursues a mutual understanding between pet and owner. Ridding a dog of wanted behaviors is best accomplished by never letting them happen in the first place if possible, but in the even that isn’t possible, say in the case of an adopted dog, more intense study is required. Some may decide to hire a professional in dog obedience training, but even here you have to be an active part in the process since you are the one to spend most time with the pet. Many find that learning how to do this on their own is much more rewarding.

Arnie Jacobsen loves dogs and would like to help insure that you can avoid having an aggressive dog and have a happy home through correct Dog Obedience Training.
